Scholarship Information

The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize Latina students who are committed to the community, to education, and to family. It remembers María del Rocío Zermeño Cárdenas, who went from a ten-year-old poor Mexican immigrant in 1964, to a Woman of the Year in Salinas, California in 1988. She was the sister of J. Francisco Zermeño C., profesor de español at Chabot College. The Zermeño family believes in and maintains a true commitment to community, education, and family, by annually awarding this scholarship to a Latina student of Chabot College. ¡Arriba y adelante!
